Warning: Flat panel displays (i.e. those supplied with laptops and similar flat displays now available for desktop systems) tend to have an optimum resolution (often 1024 x 768) and should not be adjusted. This does not apply to flat screen monitors (a flat screen monitor still uses a bulky
CRT tube).

Your screen resolution is currently: 800x600 and your colour palette is currently: 32 bits (4,294,967,296 colours).

To increase your screen resolution in Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 ,NTor XP follow these simple steps:

Minimize or exit all open programs, and open the 'Display Properties' (right-click your desktop & click on 'Properties'
Click the 'Settings' tab
Click and drag the 'Screen Area' slider until it reads '1024x768 pixels' or smaller if possible (depending on the size of your screen).
In the 'Color Palette' box, make sure the number of colors is as high as your video card will allow.
Click 'Test' to view your change.
Click 'OK'.

You may be asked to reboot your system-- click 'Yes'
Go back into the 'Display Properties' box and verify that all of the settings have been applied successfully. If not re-apply any necessary changes (sometimes Windows does not apply the 'Color Palette' changes at the same time as the screen resolution changes).
Re-connect to the Internet and maximize your browser to cover the whole screen. You will have a much nicer view of your web pages.
